Nice Backhand, Pete

Sep 28, 2007 in Sexism, Spider-Man, What Were They Thinking

Peter Parker sure knows how to sweet-talk a girl.

“Sure you’re a ditsy dame, but you’re easy on the eyes.”

“Oh THANK YOU for the lovely compliment!”

Another automated post. See you guys Monday when I’ll be “live” again.

Johnny Storm is a Dick.

An entire page, for your reading pleasure.

You have to love how she blames herself for his dickery.

I’m offline for Sukkot. This is a pre-set post. Ain’t technology grand?

Now There’s a Power!

Sep 26, 2007 in Odd Powers, Spider-Man, What Were They Thinking

Spider-Man has that rarest of abilities.

“Chest expansion”!

I think Powergirl has that one too.

Late Post Today

Sep 26, 2007 in Bondage, Odd Powers, Spider-Man, What Were They Thinking

My copy of Documents To Go is refusing to open, so I can’t get to today’s post. I’ll have one later.

In other news, I am exhausted. The holiday of Sukkot starts tonight and I was up rather late (especially for me) building my Sukkah. I’d like to give a public thank you to my “baby” brother for procuring a Sukkah for me.

Doctor Phil, She Ain’t.

Aunt May sure knows how to relieve someone’s anxiety.

What Peter is really thinking:

“Well no, I wasn’t? but I am now. Thanks Aunt May, I feel loads better.”

Naughty Goblin.

Norman Osborn is a dirty, dirty man.

“Behold! The Goblin Wang!”

Betty Brant Amazes Me.

Sep 24, 2007 in Sound Effects, Spider-Man, Stalking, What Were They Thinking

I know Secretaries are expected to have good phone skills, but this borders on the paranormal:

She recognizes the sound of Doc Ock’s arms hanging telephone receiver up?

Damn.

Posting from Vagablog. Looks like the latest version of WordPress un-broke Vagablog and Hblogger. Yay.

Lingual Shifts.

Sep 21, 2007 in Sexism, Spider-Man, What Were They Thinking

I’ve seen this phrase a few times in some DC comics, but this is the first time I’ve seen it in a Marvel one.

Was there ever a totally innocent meaning to this phrase? Really?

Well THAT Was Exciting.

Fire Alarm just jostled us out of bed a few minutes to midnight. Scared the pants off of our kid, as you might imagine. We stood outside for almost half an hour before the Fire Department gave the all clear.

A bunch of people actually stopped to watch the fun.

“Oh, do you live here too?”
“No, I was just walking. isn’t it exciting?”
“Not for me. I live here.”

Insensitive much?

Only slightly more annoying were one set of neighbors who found the whole thing amusing and were taking pictures and laughing.

I was supposed to be up at 4 for work, but I called in. I probably won’t even get back to bed until 4 with this adrenalin rush. heck, right now our daughter is chattering on about how she just learned fire safety again this week and isn’t that special and say I’m not sleepy at all now mommy…

As our Rabbi said last year when our pipes burst on Yom Kippur… it should be a Kaporah (act of penance)

Dames… Part II.

No-one is immune to Peter Parker’s Spider-Charm!

I love the look on Reed’s face in the background.

“Hussy.”
