The Negative Zone Gulag

Feb 29, 2008 in Iron Man, Politics, Spider-Man, What Were They Thinking

Forgive me, but I actually read some Civil War issues.

I’d love to see the Registration Act written out. It’s fascinating. If you wear a costume, you’re in violation? even if you have no powers? And if you register, even if you don’t intent to fight crime, you can be drafted? Also, what’s the deal with no trials?

Wouldn’t a law like this have been made a long, long time ago in the MU? What, is this the first time kids ever got hurt? What about the Hulk’s rampages?

Anyway? Negative Zone Gulag?

Um? the guy’s name is on the door, right? Doesn’t that mean he’s now registered? So why should he be getting life in jail now?

Pet peeve ? why are they in costume while incarcerated? Especially considering characters like Prodigy, who get their powers from their costumes.

But? you know their names now! What’s the point of them registering? I do not get it.

Do any lawyers or political science-types read this site? Can they explain this to me?

I’m glad I skipped this.

Wind Does Not Work That Way.

Feb 28, 2008 in Bad Science, Batman, What Were They Thinking

Show of hands, folks, what’s wrong with this picture?

That’s right, the wind blowing in that direction would add drag, not lift. Batman and Robin should be plummeting to their deaths, with several stops against the chasm walls on the way down.

A Few People Noticed This Yesterday

Feb 27, 2008 in Bondage, Cliches, What Were They Thinking

Yesterday’s panel featured a Batman cliche that i planned on noting down the line.

No, not borderline homoerotic subtext.

Batman is doing one thing while his shadow does something else, usually menacingly.

Someone get that Wendy girl to tie it down.

Damn You, Wertham

Feb 26, 2008 in Batman, Creepy Relationships, Freudian Images, Robin, What Were They Thinking

If not for “Seduction of the Innocent”, I might have skipped by this panel.

Um, what is Robin doing with his hand to make himself feel good and also impacts the flow of Batman’s blood?

Unclean! Unclean!

We’re All Naked Under Our Clothes.

Feb 25, 2008 in Bad Science, Odd Powers, Spider-Man, What Were They Thinking

The “Iron Spider” costume was an… interesting idea. First they amp up his powers with “The Other”, then they give him a supped-up costume. Aside from the delicious “Tony as Sugar Daddy” angle, there’s the whole question of just how much sense it makes. I mean? he’s supposed to be strong, lighting fast, and can sense danger coming. Then they throw in the new wrist spikes, organic webbing, and even more enchanced senses. Then they give him armor with flight, more vision powers, extra arms, GPS, camoflage, and apparantly a Kitchen Sink. Overkill, much?

Especially this bit:

Yes, because that’s what he needed… a split-second strip.

(MJ thought so, anyway)

What I find interesting is that it’s thought-controlled. Oh, and that he wears it under his clothes. So basically, he still has to take the outer clothes off.

Imagine if he accidentally thinks about taking the costume off mid battle. Everyone would see his Amazing Spider-Can.

I have one more completed post. I have to rebuild over a hundred. I fail at life.

I May Scream

My Treo just reset and now I cannot find my blog post documents anywhere. No Spider-Man, Detective Comics, Titans, or numerous other notes.

Sexy Party?

Feb 22, 2008 in Freudian Images, Teen Titans, What Were They Thinking

The aftermath of a very wild Titans sex party, to celebrate Danny Chase’s joining.

Danny wigs out.

Obviously I’m kidding. This is the aftermath of an attack.

Still, this page features two of the most fanservice-y “post attack” poses I’ve ever seen, complete with dialogue that can be twisted, like the above sequence.

Kory, it happens to some Earthlings sometimes. It’s not Dick’s fault and it’s certainly not yours. Wait a few minutes and try again.

Mistress Donna likes her toys resilient, she does. It’s not her problem if Vic forgot the safety word.

Seriously though, doesn’t that last panel look like it was Greg Landed* off of an adult photospread?

*aka “traced”.

Return of the Killer Batman

Feb 21, 2008 in Batman, What Were They Thinking

Some of you may recall my first Batman post, about Batman killing. There’s a argument one could make, of course, that the persons involved were going to get the death penalty anyway, right? Surely Batman wouldn’t kill say, a brainwashed dupe?

Riiiight.

I had to post the whole page for the full effect. Hope the site survives it.

Getting on the plane back to NY. fun trip. Later y’all.

I Did Not Need To See This.

Feb 19, 2008 in Creepy Relationships, Spider-Man, What Were They Thinking

This may be number one on the list of things I Did Not Need to See in Comics.

A close up of Norman Osborn’s “O-Face”.

My eyes.. they burn

Teen Titans Pièce de Résistance

Feb 19, 2008 in Creepy Relationships, Teen Titans, What Were They Thinking

I give you the Official Creepy Relationship of the Teen Titans ? Deathstroke and Terra.

I know people who insist that they were not in a sexual relationship, just a mutually beneficial one. Except the evidence for said relationship can’t really be ignored.

Here’s some examples.

Too vague, you say?

Bam. On panel admission. Slade Wilson, who had to be about 40, was playing “hide the broadsword” with a girl who was barely past puberty.

Where’s Chris Hansen when you need him?
