In All Star #7, the JSA are out collecting money (one hundred thousand each, except Johnny Thunder who runs his mouth off) for War Orphans. Hilarity and drama ensue.

The JSA’s First Female Member.
For some strange reason, they decided to have “The Red Tornado,” a joke character (from a quite hilarious strip called “Scibbly” into the JSA). In the Scribbly strip, Ma dresses up as a male hero, making her one of the first cross-dressing comic book characters. It adds to the humor of the situation that the various kids and adults in the Scribbly strip think that the Tornado is a man.
