Bat-Alanis

I know at least one reader who’s going to have a nice rant about this one.

No Batman, that’s not irony. That’s nothing even approaching irony.

In fact, it’s apt.

  1. HellRazor Says:

What’s even more ironic is that 2 black haired parents produced a red haired son.

And by ironic, I mean suspicious.

  2. HellRazor Says:

Next issue: Batman’s son (Batman III) and Batman’s son’s son (Robin III) battle the Joker’s son’s son.

  3. sezaar Says:

Not to mention that the Joker got his white skin and green hair from falling in a vat of chemicals, it was not in his genes. So how did his son got the same look? Did mister J drop him?

  4. K.W. Says:

What would actually be irony would be if Batman’s son took up the job of Joker, and the Joker’s son became the new Robin.

And isn’t Robin II throwing Joker II into Batman II? Looks like he’s gonna overcome both of them.

  5. Metz77 Says:

Who the hell was that kid’s mother? Harley Quinn wasn’t around yet…

  6. Dierna Says:

Oh sure Batman I.. say outloud right next to Joker that Robin II is your son!

As for the reason for Archie Andrews er Bruce Jr’s red hair… Well Kathy Kane is currently a red-head…so um…yeah. :P

  7. Rorschach Says:

Obviously, the Joker dyes his hair green, and he is bloody bad at it (notice the white stripes), and why does Joker II have his own conterfeit on his baseball bat?

  8. Ary Says:

I like the “II” under his Bat symbol.

They should implement that for Robin, so on April Fool’s, Bats can make Tim wear one with the number “V” and when anyone from the JLA asks, he can fake-sad and go, “Yeah… Another one.”

  9. Dierna Says:

    Rorschach:

His hair is just graying….in stripes….

    Ary:

Batman II is Dick Grayson. Robin II does have the II symbol on his suit.

  10. Michael Says:

I can’t even muster the rage for this. It’s sadly all too common.

  11. Dandy Says:

Where do Dick Grayson’s (eventual) children fit into this?

  12. Michael Says:

    Bruce had him fixed.

  13. Michael Says:

Okay, how’s this: Not only is this situation not ironic, but Bruce’s misuse of “ironic” is also not ironic, because people are always fucking misusing “ironic” like this.

  14. Anderson Says:

Joker must be looking to something really interesting, because he’s missing all the action, his son is having his butt kicked but his cheering like hell for something else.

  15. George C Says:

The scariest thing about this is that the Joker reproduced. (shudder)

  16. Naryldor Says:

The Jocker is cheering because Batman II and Robin II will go straight to prison for abusing his handicapped son, the poor fellow has his left leg about half as long as the right one.

  17. onion3000 Says:

Joker looks like he’s gettin’ it on with Invisible Woman. At least, that’s the face I pull when I’m gettin’ it on. With Invisible Woman.

Actually, I now wonder if “gettin’ it on with Invisible Woman” might be a euphemism for masturbatin’.

  18. onion3000 Says:

Plus, does the Martian Moon nullify gravity here or something?

  19. Your Obedient Serpent Says:

Okay: yes, two black-haired parents could have a red-haired son, because the genes for black hair are dominant, and the genes for red or blonde hair are recessive.

On the flip side, on Batman Beyond, both of black-haired Terry McGinnis’s parents have red or reddish-brown hair, which ISN’T likely. That JLU epsiode that revealed that Terry was really Bruce’s biological son, thanks to gene tampering by Amanda Waller? That was foreshadowed.

  20. Maniac Doc Says:

Joker’s son looks like he’s having the time of his life even though he’s getting tossed around by Bruce Jr. (Way to be creative there, Bats). Maybe he’s a masochist. Lord knows the Joker is screwed up enough to screw up any kid he raised.

  21. Onion3000 Says:

The tiny-hands-and-feet gene appears both dominant and universal.

  22. sezaar Says:

    Onion my thoughts exactly.

Is it just me or does it look like Robin II is helping Joker II? He’s throwing him towards Batman II so he can jump him…

  23. Dierna Says:

    George C:
And in one Earth Joker had a kid with TwoFace! *lol*

    Dandy:

Well…according to the Wold Newton Universe stuff Tim Drake is Dick Grayson’s son and Spock is his descendent…

  24. sackett Says:

The way Batman II is shaking his leg, he must be doing the Batusi.

  25. HellRazor Says:

Batman III and Robin II team up with Batman II and Robin IV to battle the Joker’s son’s son’s son, who is ironically also Batman IV. And then, hilarity ensues when the Batman from Earth 2 and Batman II from Earth 2 come along with Two Face II and Alexander Luther in…CRISIS OF INFINITE BATMEN!

  26. ShadowWing Tronix Says:

I think you just found the basis for Battle for the Cowl.

Oh, and Serpent. That wasn’t foreshadowing (and she’s my cousin, so I should know (personal running gag)), that was incredible stupid (not you) on their part. I wanted to slap the writer of that episode upside the head for including that little “tidbit”. It’s the midichlorin of the DCAU, in my opinion.
