Jill Stacy is Weird.

Anyone remember Gwen’s cousin Jill? They brought her in during Byrne’s run, where she was constantly making eyes at Peter, her new best friend’s husband.

She wasn’t subtle about it either.

She spends a blackout with Peter in an otherwise forgettable issue, culminating in this:

A question to my readers who have been in long-term relationships!

If you had been waiting all Valentine’s Day for your Significant Other, to the point that you fell asleep on the couch? what would be your reaction if you woke up to your best friend thanking him for the best Valentine’s Day ever? Keep in mind he has not called you all day and is sans gift.

I wonder if Jill will be back post-OMD?

    I believe Jill was actually introduced pre-Byrne. She had a brother who was a dick and a father who was a Private Dick, investigating Spider-Man’s connection to his brother and niece’s deaths. (Really on the ball there; it had been, what, five years comic time?)

    A great contribution to this site would be the comics from the time that Mary Jane´s cousin was living with Peter and MJ. Kristy Watson, isn´t that her name?

    Ah comics.. when in doubt bring in the never before heard of previously relatives (which is what Superman comics is now doing with Chloe Sullivan…)

    No worries, that’s not MJ. Looks to me like a man in a wig with cantalopes shoved down his shirt.

    Not to mention, taken out of context, it looks like Peter just got away with one hell of an extramarital affair.

    This brings up another reason I’m in favor of the Spider-Marriage: It seems that whenever modern writers try to do the “Wacky Adventures of Dating Peter” bit, they always turn out material that feels like rejects from a “Friends” script conference.

    (I mean, of course, a stereotypical science nerd, back before being a nerd meant you would potentially become ridiculously wealthy. No offense to actual science nerds, who we all know are incredibly attractive people. The women too.)

    Not to be mean but i always felt like the only reason she was after him was because he was a happily married guy.
    she seems like one of those types.
    not that theres anything wrong with it mind you…
