That last panel is maybe the most disturbing thing I’ve seen since reading the page of “The Lonely Doll” where Mr. Bear is spanking her.

What? It’s a classic of children’s lit!
Anyhow… part of me wanted to cut off that last panel and leave it by it’s lonesome, but frankly, it’s even more disturbing in context.
Even better is when you find out that this is Superman’s fantasy of what would happen if he met his dad.
Dude needs help.

Lemme get this straight. He’s basically accusing his son of not fulfilling his true potential, while simultaneously admitting that he, the alien superscientist has been loafing about the past twentysomething years just watching his son’s antics?
Well, on the other hand, he did somehow manage to figure out how to grow a hundred feet tall, so I guess that’s something.
Basically any time one of Kal’s parental units acquire superpowers, you can be sure the WTF meter will jump off the scale. Pa Kent was always going Zod on Superboy for some reason that says WAY too much about the Freudian conflicts gripping the authors.
