You Know What I Don’t Get?

Ever notice that in comics about modern-day pirates, they almost always dress like old-time pirates?

I get that it looks neat, but they always arm themselves with just swords. I know it wouldn’t help them against Hal, but wouldn’t, I dunno… guns be helpful? Just generally?

Pirates with guns? That wouldn’t be sporting!

Hal, you don’t need to put scare quotes around “will” in your internal monologue. It’s not slang.

Hal only does it because (in the words of a personal hero of mine) “verbing weirds language”

You forgot an “up” there, Hal.

Hal’s just lucky those aren’t Somalian pirates.

Where’s the fun in being a pirate if you don’t get to dress up?

I imagine they haven’t realized they don’t live in the 1600′s. Some people really are that out of it.

Movie pirates are just better. :B Much more awesome than the real thing. Though them not even carrying around flintlock pistols to go with their swishy swords is unforgivable. They deserve to get beaten up by Hal Jordan thanks to help from the humiliating trampoline.

They should have used wooden swords, possibly even painted yellow.

If it’s “good” enough for “Kirby,” then we call all “put” random quotes around any “damn” words we “please!”
