You’d Think This’d Come Up.

Finally, we find out why Gotham seems to have such economic disparity.

Imagine the impact of a four-year drought.

I’m imagining Gotham Harbor; empty, sad little joker-fish flapping in the mud…

(I know, I lose points for making a continuity nit)

If you don't have water factory near your city that produces drinkable water through desalinisation process, apsolutely nothing. Also, salt water can be used for irrigation but not too much.

As someone who's spent four decades and three major droughts in a coastal state... what does having a harbor full of salt water have to do with weathering a drought?

A 4 year drought?? Lesse...they're in Jersey (supposadly)... *researches* Ok..so Gotham is in New Jersey and they're having a 4 year drought. Fortunatly for them New Jersey is prepared beyond belief in case of an emergency such as this. They're not like say Georgia or California. Nope...they've got a Dought Preparedness handbook that tells ya what to do in case of a drought.

But the thing is...the reservoirs are supposed to HELP in a drought not hinder. :/ But then again I've seen the Colorado river almost dry at the Hoover Dam.

But a 4 year drought? I found the list of the bad droughts where Gotham supposadly is starting from the 1920's and the worst drought on record lasted for 2 years (1964-1966) altho there was also one in 1963 so it kinda lasted for 3 years.

The forest looks pretty green and healthy for having gone through a four year drought. Actually, it looks less like a reservoir surrounded by trees and more like someones swimming pool surrounded by an unkempt lawn.

A four-year drought? I'd be glad to send some of the Midwest's rain back in time so their suffering could end. It's not like we don't have a surplus here.

...Although in reality they're just going through the motions...

If you look closely*, that's actually the Gotham sewage treatment works, where Gothamites are desperately trying to reclaim the waste-water flushed daily.

    *Not too closely, obviously.

I didn't know that city water is fed from open reservoirs. Imagine the amount of thirsty rats drowning in it every day?
I think that there has to be water factory somewhere near, probably near the river or, I don't know, SEA! And sea has apsolutely nothing to do with draught.

While there, Four year drought?! Come on, why didn't they say that there were tornadoes each year or something similar...

I like how they contrast this with a shot of what's apparently Bruce Wayne's Olympic-class swimming pool, full to the brim.
  • What a humid Martian drought... The open air reservoir seems quite full to me.

By the way, no wonder why they always get to poison Gotham's water supplies, the barriers are discontinuous !

What the hell Gotham's mayor is doing with the city money?

It's time to finish the fencing and secure the city reservoirs !!!!
