The Biggest Mis-Step in Green Lantern History

The Green Lantern Franchise has been around for a while. As such, they’ve been a ton of interesting diversions from the basic premise of “dude with a magic ring”. The first would be “badass testpilot with a magic ring”. which was keen, because it was a huge switch from the mild-mannered secret identity concept that was so pervasive in comic books.

So of course, that had to go.

Seriously? An insurance claims adjuster?

They even try to make it sound all badass…

To be honest, this does seem kind of sinister. I’m getting the feeling that Hal has a very proactive method of making sure no claims are filed against his company.

Also, the sidebar is overlapping the panel and vice versa.

/me pads around the warren, brushing his teeth, his fur still somewhat damp and his ears inexplicably up in curlers, glancing at his news feed for an instant before wandering off again, moments later emitting a frothy “eep!” and bolting back, blinking, his tail twitching in surprise

Coincidentally, the post I was on in an archive binge when the site updated was “Maybe I Have Eyestrain?”, followed immediately by “This Hurts To Look At”. I can’t help be view that as somewhat of a bad omen for the new theme.

Nice page layout. although…. the images on some past pages tends to overlap with the sidebar comments to the right: ——->
you could maybe find a way to space those panels apart, or make the images small and click-able?

I DON’T THINK MY HEART CAN HANDLE THE EXCITEMENT! IT’S BEATS ARE PRACTICALLY SLOWING TO A CRAWL!Geez…and I thought that ‘Turn Hal Jordan into a murdering psycho’ was a creative misstep.

Yeah, Hal, I think people are much happier to see the superhero with the fabulous ass than the insurance guy.

I’d like to believe Julius Schwartz had recently seen “Watermelon Man” and was planning a year-long arc in which Hal wakes up as a black man.  So relevant!  Top THAT, Denny!
