Tin’s Disturbing Invention
Long time fans of the Metal Men absolutely know where this post is going. For the uninitiated, in issue #13, we find a lonely Tin wandering the streets.
Now, if Doc Magnus could read the captions, he’d be popping up to say “robots aren’t people!”, but anyway…
So Tin wants companionship. A pet of some kind. Which leads to our next panel:
How big a deal can the Metal Men be when you can buy robot kits at the local department store?
Seriously though, this is meant to be a toy, a plaything, something less than a “real” robot.
See? Toy section. Clearly a toy.
Until Tin decides to mess around with things robotkind was not meant to know.
Which gives us Tin’s desired result, a “not quite a real robot”, equated with a pet or a toy…
