World’s Finest #42 has forced me to view the Lois Lane/Superman dynamic in a whole new light.

The premise is that a bunch of aliens are going to destroy the Earth if Superman doesn’t go and collect some samples of the local fauna for them. In other words, they’re willing to travel hundreds of light years, but once they get there, they just order out. Typical tourists.

Anyway, Lois tags along to “report”.

Hilarity, as it often does, ensues:

a: Lois, for taking a break from their trying to save the world from aliens to sniff a pretty flower?

b. Superman, for threatening to put the woman he “loves” in a cage?

Regardless, they’re both pretty unenlightened, no?
